2. Three layer laminated adhesive fabric - a waterproof and breathable layer is compounded under the outer fabric, and then a layer of inner lining is compounded. No additional lining is required when making ready to wear clothing.
3. Two and a half layers of fabric - a composite waterproof and breathable layer is added under the outer fabric, followed by a protective layer (not lining). When making clothing, there is no need to add a lining because there is already a protective layer, but it is much lighter and softer than three-layer laminated adhesive fabric.
Production process
The production process of assault jackets mainly includes laser cutting, three-dimensional cutting, adhesive treatment, waterproof zippers, waterproof coatings, and windproof components.
Laser cutting can make the cut surface flat and neat without fuzzing.
Stereoscopic cutting can make the elbows, knees, and other parts of clothing more in line with the curves of the human body, making wearing more comfortable.
The adhesive treatment at the joint joint can prevent moisture infiltration.
Waterproof coatings such as DUPONT TEFLON are applied to the surface of clothing to enhance waterproofing and reduce the corrosion of materials by rainwater. The waterproof zipper is covered with a waterproof adhesive layer on the outer layer of the zipper to prevent moisture from penetrating.
Guide to purchasing windproof components such as windproof skirts, elastic ropes at the hem, and Velcro at the cuffs can effectively prevent wind from entering from the outside.
Fabric selection
The fabric of a submachine jacket is generally divided into the outermost protective layer, the middle waterproof and breathable layer, and the lining.
The protective layer and waterproof breathable layer are pressed together, while the lining is separated from them, usually made of nylon silk, mesh cloth, or some kind of sweat absorbing material, mostly black. The adhesive strip at the seam is blocked by the lining and cannot be seen (unless it is through a mesh cloth).
Three layers of fabric: protective layer, waterproof and breathable layer, and lining are pressed together, which looks like one layer of fabric. Generally, the color of the lining is silver gray. You can see the adhesive strip at the seam of the lining. Generally speaking, the breathability and warmth of two-layer fabrics are slightly better than those of three-layer fabrics, but three-layer fabrics are lightweight, comfortable to wear (two-layer fabrics are a bit bulky), and have a smaller folding volume (most of the time, the spring, summer, and autumn assault jackets are kept in bags). So unless it is only considered for use in winter or on snowy mountains, it is generally better to choose a three-layer fabric.
There are mainly two types of fabrics for assault jackets:
(1) One type is the microporous fabric with ePTFE coating, which is commonly used in China as GORE-TEX, DENTIK, EVENT, and 3TO1-TEX. Its waterproof and breathable function is to composite a layer of microporous film on the outer fabric of clothing. The micropores are smaller than water droplet molecules but larger than gas molecules, which can block rainwater while evaporating their own sweat.
(2) Another type is hydrophilic fabric coated (or laminated) with PU or TPU, which relies on a non porous waterproof layer and hydrophilic molecular chain structure to achieve its function.

Outdoor style
Suitable for various types of activities, with complex styles and multiple functions (basically just multiple pockets), skiing clothes belong to this category.
Rain proof design
The simplest style, lightest weight, thinnest fabric, cheapest price, and worst breathability—— If you don't feel feverish when playing outdoors and don't want to invest too much, it is recommended to choose this one. It is best to keep it in a backpack during normal travel (not breathable, stuffy when worn), and wear it again in case of rain (stuffy is always better than wet).
Waterproof and breathable
If general materials are waterproof, they are often not breathable, such as plastic, rubber, etc; However, materials with good breathability, such as cotton products, cannot achieve waterproofing. The materials used to make assault jackets have both waterproof and breathable properties, but this trade-off comes at the cost of limited waterproof and breathable performance. Don't have high expectations. Usually, it feels stuffy when climbing continuously, and in continuous heavy rain, there will always be some dampness inside.
Waterproof: The fabric of the assault suit is designed to be as waterproof as possible while ensuring a certain degree of breathability, but its waterproof performance is far inferior to materials such as plastic and rubber.
Breathability: Steam method, pour hot water into a cup, cover the fabric of the submachine jacket over the cup mouth, or press a piece of glass on the fabric. If you see hot air coming out through the fabric or condensation on the glass, it means that the fabric is breathable. However, it should be noted that the air permeability of different materials varies, with some being high and some being low. The above tests can only qualitatively prove that the material is not completely impermeable, but the quality of its air permeability performance is still unknown.
